Yā Kitāb al-Ghuyūb - O Book of the Unseen
Chorus 1#
طَلْعَةُ الْمَحْبُوْبْ غَايَةُ الْمَطْلُوْبْ
ṭalʿatu l-maḥbūb ghāyatu l-maṭlūb
The countenance of the Beloved is the ultimate desire,
مَنْ رَأَى يَدْرِيْ وَالسِّوَى مَحْجُوْبْ
man raʾā yadrī wa-s-siwā maḥjūb
Whoever has seen, knows, while others remain veiled.
Chorus 2#
يَا كِتَابَ الْغُيُوبْ قَدْ لَجَأْنَا إِلَيْكْ
yā kitāb al-ghuyūb qad lajaʾnā ilayk
O book of the unseen, we have sought refuge in you.
يَا شِفَاءَ الْقُلُوبْ الْصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْكْ
yā shifāʾ al-qulūb al-ṣalāh ʿalayk
O healing of the hearts, prayers be upon you.

أَنْتَ مَجْلَى الْجَمَالْ فِي نِظَامِ الْكَمَالْ
anta majlā al-jamāl fī niẓām al-kamāl
You are beauty manifest in the form of the perfection.
كُلُّ هَٰذَا الْنَّوَالْ فَاضَ مِنْ رَاحَتَيْكْ
kullu hādhā al-nawāl fāḍa min rāḥatayk
All this favour overflowed from your two rests.

أَنْتَ رُوحُ الْوُجُودْ كَنْزُ فَضْلٍ وَجُودْ
anta rūḥ al-wujūd kanzu faḍlin wa-jūd
You are the spirit of existence, a treasure of virtue and goodness,
فِي مَقَامِ الْشُّهُودْ كُلُّ فَضْلٍ لَدَيْكْ
fī maqām al-shuhūd kullu faḍlin ladayk
In the rank of witnessing, you have every virtue.

أَنْتَ سِرُّ الْكِتَابْ عَنْكَ فَصْلُ الْخِطَابْ
anta sirr al-kitāb ʿanka faṣlu al-khiṭāb
You are the secret of the book, from you is the final greeting
وَبِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابْ فَالْرُّجُوعُ إِلَيْكْ
wa-biyawm al-ḥisāb fa-al-rujūʿu ilayk
On the Day of Account, so the return is to you.
4#
أَنْتَ طَٰهَٰ الْرَّسُولْ تَاجُ أَهْلِ الْقَبُولْ
anta ṭāhā al-rasūl tāju ahli al-qabūl
You are the Prophet Ṭā-Hā, crown of the people of acceptance.
كُلُّ هَمٍّ يَزُولْ بِالْصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْكْ
kullu hamm yazuwl bi-al-ṣalāti ʿalayk
Every worry ceases with prayers sent upon you.
5#
أَنْتَ فِي الْعَالَمِينْ رُوحُ جِسْمِ الْيَقِينْ
anta fī al-ʿālamīn rūḥ jism al-yaqīn
You are the spirit of the body of certainty in the worlds,
مَوْكِبُ الْمُرْسَلِينْ قَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكْ
mawkibu al-mursalīn qāma bayna yadayk
The parade of the Messengers stopped in front of you.
6#
وَعَلَيْكَ الْسَلَامْ يَا رَسُولَ الْأَنَامْ
wa-ʿalayka al-salām yā rasūl al-anām
And upon you be peace, O Messenger of Mankind,
مَا شَدَا مُسْتَهَامْ بِالْصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْكْ
mā shadā mustahām bi-al-ṣalāti ʿalayk
So long as the besotted sings prayers upon you.
